In less than 4 weeks baby G will be here! It’s so crazy how quickly my pregnancy has gone by and I can’t believe that our baby is almost here. (ahhh!) We had our baby shower about a month ago and even had an East Coast baby shower for family without us last week. Being there are so many baby essentials that you’ll need for your newborn, baby registries are a great way to get some help with gifts! With all the different stores to buy baby gear from I found it extremely annoying and tedious to have multiple registries. When we were getting married, we found it so much easier to have all our registries in one place and on one site. I’m so glad I found Babylist!
Babylist is a free website that allows you to sync all your registries from all your different stores. It’s super easy to add items from any store and you can access it from anywhere ie. your phone or your desktop. Plus, they have their own online store with free shipping over $45! With Babylist, you have one website with your own custom url making it super easy to share with friends and family. I also love that they give you a 10% completion discount to buy what’s remaining on your registry from the Babylist store 60 days before your due date.
What are some other reasons why I chose Babylist?
- The Babylist store is so easy to use! The browser button is very similar to Pinterest so it’s easy to add any item to your personal registry.
- They also have great tools to help you build your registry! I like their lifestyle quiz that gives you a personalized printable baby registry checklist so you know what essentials are perfect for your growing family.
- I loved using the ‘Add to Babylist’ button that I saved on my web browser bookmark! If their was something I wanted to add from a particular site, I just went to that page and clicked my bookmark button to easily add it to my Babylist registry!
- Did you know you can also add personal favors to your Babylist registry? You can add things like meals, house cleaning, or even dog walking. It’s perfect for those family and friends who’d love to give that extra help!
- You can also add a cash fund and gift card option (HUGE PLUS for me!)
- You know how I mentioned that you can add any item from any site to your Babylist registry? I loved adding items from Etsy that I couldn’t find anywhere else. It’s a good way to support all the small businesses out there!
- The last thing I loved was their helpful content & guides! I enjoyed reading their Best Of guides where Babylist surveys real parents every year to create and help you make informed choices. There’s also additional helpful content like Pregnancy Week by Week (My Ultimate favorite!) and sample registries to give you even more tips on navigating pregnancy and parenthood.
You can qualify to receive a Hello Baby Box once you’ve completed your registry. The welcome box is filled with lots of great samples, coupons, and essentials to get you started. The contents of the box change monthly so there’s always something new! The Hello Baby Box is available in limited quantities, while supplies last and for US residents only, restrictions apply. Along with Babylist, I’d love to share with you some of my registry favorites and essentials!

Owlet Smart Sock 2 Baby Monitor
- Probably one of the smartest buys out there. If you’re a paranoid person like me, this will save your life. It’s a sock that monitors your baby 24/7 that you simply link up to your phone and bluetooth. If your babies oxygen or heart rate levels go down, it instantly alerts you through your phone and light up base. It’s one of the more expensive gadgets, but everyone tells me that it’s truly a lifesaver and gives you a piece of mind! Buy here.
I think everyone mostly known about the DockATot. I’m personally really excited about it because I can have my newborn lounge in it wherever I go around the house. I’ve also seen photos of people bringing it with them on the airport! This is also more of a splurge item, but I know I’ll get a lot of use out of it. Also, cribs are usually too big for your newborn so I’ve had many friends tell me they put the DockATot in their crib for nap time. Always make sure to monitor your baby! Buy here.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about this hi-tech bouncer, but I personally am willing to try it. I love tech innovations, it’s the millenial in me! Plus if I were a baby, I’d love this! Buy here.

Fisher Price Kick n Play Piano Gym
I found this playmat to be adorable and super inexpensive! I love that it folds and comes with handles for easy transport. I plan to take this when visiting family or going to the park. It’s also one of those items that I know I can use for at least more than a year. Buy here.
Transportation
When our neice and nephew were babies, my husband used to love walking around the neighborhood with them and this Ergobaby! I had to put it on the registry so the soon-to-be dad can enjoy walks with Baby G too! This one specifically let’s you carry your baby in all 4 positions: front carry facing in, front carry facing out, back carry, and hip carry. Buy here.
Boba® Wrap Baby Carrier
So why do I have 2 baby carriers? Well this one’s for me! My friend told me that she used this with her first born all around the house and that her baby loved it so much that he would just sleep in it. I’m hoping this same blessing could work for me. It’s less bulky too so I think it would be so much easier for me! Buy here.
UPPAbaby® VISTA 2017 Stroller + UPPAbaby® MESA 2017 Infant Car Seat

Breast Pump
This is essential and alot of insurance covers a breast pump so see what your options are!
I love multi-use products so this Boppy is perfect! I plan to use it as a nursing pillow, for tummy time, and later as a baby lounger. You can’t go wrong with it! Buy here
While there’s many bottles out there, I heard this might be the best for a newborn and is certainly one of the most popular bottles out there. We’ll see! I bought a couple of different, but popular brands to see what might work best for our baby. Buy here.

Nursing pads + Ice packs – Breastfeeding essentials
I’ve heard that this is essential with breastfeeding. I’m already using ice/warming packs because my milk is already preparing itself to come in. You’ll definitely need items similar to this if you plan to breastfeed!
Changing + Diapering
Keekaroo® Peanut Changer
So I put both the Keekaroo Peanut Changer and a regular changing pad on my registry just in case no one would get this for us. It’s a little more on the pricier side, but I like the idea of an easy clean up (not having to wash changing pad sheets, etc). It also has a non-slip surface, waterproof and non-toxic! Buy here.
Ubbi Diaper Pail
I put this Ubbi one vs. the other diaper pails because this one doesn’t require a special trash liner or “refills” that you constantly have to buy. I plan on just buying those febreeze odor masking liners to use for this that I can buy anywhere. Buy here.
OXO tot® On-the-Go Wipes Dispenser
MUNCHKIN Arm & Hammer Diaper Bag Dispenser
This wasn’t on my registry but I got these as part of a gift at our baby shower. I actually thought they were dog poop bags so I attached it to my dogs harness. LOL! But it’s pretty inventive and smart for those smelly on-the-go diapers. Buy here.
Clothing
So I didn’t really put much clothing items on my registry simply because I work/know a lot of baby clothing companies where I have unlimited access to baby clothes. Kind of convenient, right? But here are some that I have on my registry or that I feel are important for newborns:
Aden + Anais is a very popular brand. They make the cutest muslin swaddles and blankets! I also find the 3 pack to be a better investment as well! Buy here.
Love this cover because it’s so versatile! It can be used as a nursing, car seat, high chair, or shopping cart cover. And you just pop it in the wash! Buy here.
A friend told me about this brand and I was amazed! They have onesies and gowns that have a magnetic closure instead of snaps or zippers. It makes changing so much easier and faster! Buy here.
Bath Time
Babyganics Essentials Gift Set or Mustela Newborn Gift Set
Washcloths
Little Accessories but Must-haves
This wasn’t on my registry, but I loved it so much I bought a couple. I love the boba one too. They have silicone paci holders too! Buy here.
All my friends kids love their WubbaNub’s! They’re so cute too, it’s like they have a little buddy with them! Buy here.
This Sheep toy is so soft and fluffy! I’m glad I put it on my registry. It comes with a little velcro strap in the back and a mini sound machine timer to help your baby go to sleep. I plan to use this when were out and about or when the baby is staying over at my moms. I think this is a perfect registry gift and it’s really cute! Buy here.
I hope you found this post helpful and I hope that I helped you pick out some items to put on your baby registry!
